Our story

Handmade rugs, sourced directly from the makers

Road through the Atlas Mountains on a rug sourcing trip — VOLZAR

VOLZAR started with my mother.

She grew up in Meknès. The wool, the markets, the rugs on the floor of every house — that was her world long before it was mine. We started this together.

She passed away a year and a half ago, before the first piece ever left Morocco.

So I kept going.

WHY BENI MRIRT

The finest wool rugs Morocco makes

The densest weave

Beni Mrirt sits at the top of Moroccan hand-knotting — up to twice the knot density of a standard Beni Ouarain. You feel it the moment you step on one.

Bought at the source

I buy in the Khénifra region, where these rugs are actually made — at the Saturday market, from the people who wove them. No agent, no showroom, no third party.

One piece, once

Every rug is chosen individually, in person. No two are the same, and I never buy the same piece twice. When one is gone, it's gone — there is no reorder.
