Most people never find the rug they actually pictured. Not because it doesn’t exist but because a handmade rug is made once, and when it’s sold, it’s gone.

So we work the other way around. You tell us what you’re looking for. We go and find it.

How it works

You tell us the room, the dimensions, the colours already there, and the feeling you’re after. A photo of the space says more than anything else.

We then contact the weavers and cooperatives we work with directly. No importers, no showroom markup. You receive photographs of actual rugs with full dimensions, weight and knot density. If a piece is right, we bring it to Belgium. If nothing is right, we keep looking. Nothing is owed until you say yes.

Every piece we bring back arrives with a signed certificate: origin, dimensions, weight and knot density.

Between two and eight weeks, depending on what you’re after. We’d rather make you wait for the right piece than send you something close enough.

What we need to start

The dimensions of the room and where the rug will sit. The colours already in the space. Whether you want the rug to lead the room, or to sit quietly in it. One or two photos. Your timeframe.

Is there a fee to start a request?

No. You commit once you’ve seen a piece and decided it’s the one.

Can you match a specific colour?

Within reason. Handmade wool carries natural variation that’s part of what makes it handmade. We’ll tell you honestly what’s achievable before you commit.

What sizes can you source?

From small accent pieces to oversized room-defining rugs. Custom dimensions are possible, with a longer timeframe.

How long does it take, and where do you deliver?

Between two and eight weeks, depending on what you’re after. We deliver across Europe.

What comes with each rug?

Every piece arrives with a signed certificate from VOLZAR: origin, dimensions, weight, knot density, and the cooperative it came from. Pure wool, no synthetic blends.
